Brief Description of the Project
Construction of two new Post-Primary Schools and a centrally located Sports Facility on a 40-acre greenfield site on
the Moyglare Road, Maynooth.

Maynooth Education Campus is home to:
Maynooth Community College / Coláiste Pobail Mhá Nuad: A co-educational, multi-denominational second
level school offering the traditional Junior Certificate and Leaving Certificate both through the mediums of
Irish and English.
Maynooth Post Primary School: A co-educational second level school with a non-selective entry, getting the
large majority of students from the Primary Schools in the surrounding catchment area.

Brief:
The works completed include the following:

(a) The completion of the construction of two new two-storey pre-cast concrete structure, Post Primary School
Buildings of approximately 9,000m² each including General Classrooms, Specialist Classrooms, Social Areas,
Administration Areas, Specialist Accommodation for pupils with Special Educational Needs, Circulation Areas,
Sensory Gardens, Service Yards, External Stores, Covered Storage Areas for Construction Studies and other Ancillary
Accommodation.

(b) The completion of the construction of a Part Single-Storey, Part Two-Storey Sports Facility of approximately
2,000m² including a PE Hall, a Stage Area, a Fitness Suite, Social Areas, Changing Rooms, Circulation Areas,
Administration Areas, Stores, Service Areas and other Ancillary Accommodation.

(c) The completion of new Site Entrances and Routes for Vehicular, Pedestrian and Bicycle use, Bus, Car and Coach
Drop-off Areas, Car Parking Areas and Bicycle Shelters; provision of New Roundabout, Bus Drop-Off Areas and
Alteration of Boundary Wall and Fencing at the existing public road to the South of the site; provision of Ballcourts, Playing Pitch, Landscaped External Areas and Ancillary Site Works.
